Some published data is usually widely inconsistent. The numbers are estimated on the bases of the livestock statistics kept by the former homeland governments. Strategy Encourage all emerging and subsistence livestock owners to register themselves, the number, and type of livestock they own. Those who farm privately will be requested to provide the sizes of their own or leased farms. The establishment of a livestock ownership database provide good basis for planning and determination of focussed areas for livestock development. The database is also largely used for marketing purpose by our corporate partners.
