Great opportunity of unemployed agricultural graduates
08 Apr 2003

Umsobomvu Youth Fund has entered into a partnership with NERPO in its Young Agribusiness Entrepreneurial Development Programme which seeks to develop technical, professional and life skills of unemployed agricultural graduates of South Africa as a main funder of the programme. The programme is sought to address the historic social, economic and political problem of unemployment, skills shortage and poverty especially amongst the black youth. Students are expected to stay and learn in the programme for at least twelve months and thereafter NERPO will place them in the formal job market or business venture. The programme has also managed to attract key strategic partners to come on board. These are Land Bank, Department of Labour, Department of Land Affairs, Department of Agriculture, Virbac and Vleissentraal. The success of the project will indeed be tested on placement of the products on their exit.
